MA-QSFP-40G-SR4

Ultimate Solution for Faster Data Transmission

The Cisco MA-QSFP-40G-SR4 transceiver is designed to work with Cisco Meraki network equipment. This is a small form-factor transceiver that provides faster communication between switches and other networking components.

Cisco MA-QSFP-40G-SR4 Compatible QSFP+ Transceiver adopts 12 Fibers MTP/MPO Male connectors, reaching a link up to 150m over OM4 MMF (100m over OM3). It is configured and verified to work with Meraki data center switches, routers, network interface cards (NICs), and other optical transport devices in 40G Ethernet and high-performance computing networks applications.

It is an excellent substitute for OEM transceivers at a much lower cost. However, QSFP-40G-SR4 transceivers are also Cisco Compatible Transceivers and can be compatible with Cisco Meraki network equipment and has a lot of features and benefits similar to Cisco MA-QSFP-40G-SR4 transceivers.

Let’s understand more about the QSFP-40G-SR4 transceivers in this article.

Cisco QSFP-40G-SR4 Transceivers

The Cisco compatible transceivers of 40GBASE-SR4 QSFP Modules provide connection lengths of 100 and 150 meters on laser-optimized OM3 and OM4/OM5 multimode fibers, respectively. Its primary use is to provide high-bandwidth 40G optical communications via 12-fiber parallel fiber terminated with MPO/MTP multi fiber female connectors.

It can also be utilized in a 4x10G breakout mode for compatibility with 10GBASE-SR and SFP-10/25G-CSR-S (in 10G mode) interfaces on OM3 and OM4/OM5 fibers up to 100 and 150 meters, respectively.

The  4x10G mode operation is enabled by optimizing the Cisco QSFP-40G-SR4’s transmit and receive optical characteristics to prevent receiver overload or unnecessary triggering of alarm thresholds on the 10GBASE-SR and SFP-10/25G-CSR-S (in 10G mode) receivers, while remaining fully interoperable with all standard 40GBASE-SR4 interfaces.

An external 12-fiber parallel to 2-fiber duplex breakout cable links the 40GBASE-SR4 module to four 10GBASE-SR optical ports, allowing for 4x10G connection.

Cisco QSFP-40G-SR4 transceivers are designed to work with any:

  •  IEEE 40GBASE-SR4 and, in 4x10G mode,
  • 10GBASE-SR and SFP-10/25G-CSR (in 10G mode).

Features and benefits of Cisco Transceivers QSFP modules
